Singapore Flyer

For some, going on a Ferris wheel the height of a 42-story building would be classified as an extreme adventure. For others, it’s pretty tame. I definitely say it fits into the category of a semi-adventure.

The Singapore Flyer opened in 2008, after 2 1/2 years of construction. At 541 feet, it held the title as the world’s tallest Ferris wheel until the High Roller in Las Vegas was built in 2014 at 550 feet. Each of the wheel’s 28 pods holds 28 people. Due to Covid-19, only 14 people are allowed in each pod, making the experience a bit more enjoyable.

The Flyer’s design allows riders to walk directly into the pods. The pods are wheelchair accessible, making this adventure one that everyone can share.

The wheel is designed with the pods on the outside of the wheel so riders have unobstructed views at all times. Each rotation takes 30 minutes to complete.

And the views are amazing! When the weather is clear, riders can see as far as Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Singapore Flyer is definitely worth your time and should be on your list during a visit to Singapore.
